The Empty Nest Diary

There is such beauty when I look out my window

to the snowy evergreen landscape,

but when I head outside

and take a look “in”,

I see the poetry of

a pair of mittens hanging by the fire,

a tea cup by the stove

and my boys at the table.

Writing is my act

of looking

in.
